THE Brewmaster BEHIND THE BUZZ

Our beers are brewed in-house by our brewmaster, Jeff Hancock, on a 10-barrel Bohemian Brewing Company system (see our end-to-end brewing process here).

While other breweries play it safe with a handful of options, we laugh in the face of limitation with a whopping 18 DIFFERENT BEERS ON TAP AT ALL TIMES.

Overachiever? Perhaps. Delicious? Absolutely.

And for those keeping their wits about them (designated drivers, we salute you), we've crafted a house-made, caffeine-free, gluten-free root beer that'll make you question why you ever drank the store-bought stuff. It's made with real cane sugar because we're fancy like that.

Our root beer is is nature-friendly too — we’ve partnered with the Anacostia Watershed Society to donate $0.10 for every root beer bottle returned. See the back of our bottle for details.

In addition, Franklins beers are never pasteurized, nor are any chemical preservatives or additives used. Many of our beers are fit for vegan consumption and any product like lactose (milk sugar) or honey will be noted on the beer menu.

We've racked up over 180 awards from competitions like the Great British Beer Festival, Great International Beer Competition, United States Beer Tasting Championship, and Maryland Craft Beer Competition.

Over the past 20 years, we've poured more than $300,000 back into our community through Franklins Fundraisers.
